On November 10, we announced the launch of a second worship service scheduled for February 2, 2014. Why would we do something like that? That’s a good question. So here are a few of the biggest reasons why we would add a worship service.
Jesus is worth it.
Our goal is to lead more people to worship Jesus than are worshipping Him now…to make multiplying followers of Jesus Christ for the global glory of God.
Every person matters.
Just like new groups and new churches can reach new people, new services can reach new people.
Facts are important.
What we know about math and people tell us that we have reached our capacity in worship center.
Serving others makes a difference.
We want to provide a new opportunity for people to serve Jesus and join God’s Kingdom activity.
So what should you do?
Pray.
Pray for God’s Spirit to fall with fresh fire on us in a way that would ignite a new love for Him and empower our work.
Prepare.
Be ready to adjust your schedule, get your relationships to a healthy place, and prepare your heart to join God’s activity.
Participate.
Take the next step. That may be connecting in a LifeGroup, volunteering for service, giving more faithfully, or attending Starting Point in January (our new member orientation). Whatever the next step looks like for you now is a good time to step up.
These are exciting days for the Green Hill Church family. And we can be sure that as we trust Jesus with all our hearts, He will direct our steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).
This is such an important observation. Preferences are not necessarily unimportant but can be more than a little damaging when overshadowing the essential message of the gospel. Too often I think the Church may focus more on what it may correctly see as appropriate or inappropriate Christian conduct while overlooking the basic and essential need to accept the forgiveness, salvation and lordship of Jesus Christ. While not suggesting we ignore the sin, forgiveness of the same comes though Jesus. Here’s hoping that our overwhelming preference for 2014 will be sharing the good news of the gospel, having thousands find forgiveness and salvation. I think thereafter there is a good chance everything else will fall into place.
